ACHIEVEMENTS
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE OGBONA ELITES FORUM ACHIEVEMENTS FROM 2016 - DATE
1. Hired thirteen temporary teachers (NCE/ND/HND/B.Sc) for various subjects for the Ogbona Secondary school since 2016, whose monthly wage bill is about N310,000.00.
2. Worked with the palace to repair some of the broken-down water boreholes, generators and diesel for Pumping of Water. PurchaseD N30, 000 – N100,000 worth of diesel every month to power water pumping machines (decreasing due solar power installed on some boreholes & raining season).
3. In February 2017, organized a Three-day workshop on the use of phonics, the latest technology in reading for teachers from the three primary schools in Ogbona to get the pupils well-grounded in reading.
4. Purchased New Concept English and Mathematics books for JSS and SS Classes for the sum of N500,000 through donations from our members and families.
5. Organized the first Career day talks and seminars on cultism and restiveness, human capital development, entrepreneurship and counselling. (The essence of this program was to meet and overcome the challenges posed to our community by student’s poor academic performance, truancy, indiscipline, poor school management and cultism.).
6. Organized Annual Career Day & Seminar for Students and trained Teachers from the Primary and secondary schools, using professionals as resource personel.
7. We now have a functioning and up to date website “ogbonaelites.org. A total of 45 articles on Ogbona/Avhianwu Culture, Tradition, Announcements, Biographies, profiles of Ogbona sons and daughters and programs are posted at this website. Ogbona Elites Forum was registered with CAC and opened its own account at Zenith Bank Plc.
8. We published over 30 Profiles of Ogbona Sons and daughters at home and abroad and 30 Biographies of Ogbona sons and daughters that have passed on to the great beyond but their contributions to the growth of our community are not forgotten.
9. We published an organogram of the Ogbona sub clan, the Okphe Ukpi palace and all the chiefs and functions. Documented Ogbona Cultural Dances after research at home.
10. Had several donation events since 2017 for medical and education issues. Out of all our donations, Keep Apolonia alive was a new height for us. Raised over one million, three hundred thousand Naira in less than 36 hours. Bravo.
11. Two scholarships schemes namely The Chief and Mrs. M.C.K Orbih Financial Grant-In-Aid” for Ogbona Indigenes at The Nigerian Law School and IKHATUEKEWOR ASAPOKHAI SCHOLARSHIP were instituted through our scholarship scheme. We awarded full scholarships of N350,000 each to 2 of our indigenes for 4 years at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.
12. Through the good efforts of members of Ogbona Elites Forum, renovation and upgrade of the Primary Healthcare Centre (Dispensary/Maternity) at Ogbona were carried out with the addition of a theatre in the Healthcare Centre, equipped to handle surgical operations.The theatre now saves our people from the stress of going to Auchi for minor surgeries and baby deliveries.
13. Organized a 3-day medical outreach to Ogbona Community and environ IN 2018 AND 2019. Over 3,000 people from Ogbona and surrounding villages were at the MCK Orbih Comprehensive Health Centre daily for the free medical programs.
We believe in working jointly with development partners for the development of our community in all spheres of human endeavors.
We appreciate the effort of the 1993 set in helping to curb the security challenges posed by lack of perimeter wall to secure the school and truancy. It is our sincere hope other alma maters of the great institution will take a cue from this noble venture by the class of ’93
Some of our achievements in 2017

- In July, organized a two-day seminar for 37 teachers from the three primary schools in Ogbona. (The first day was on Re-Inventing the Ideal Teacher and Teaching Methodologies, while the 2nd day was on Re-Inventing the Ideal Teacher: Class Room Management & Control.

A total of 45 articles on Ogbona/Avhianwu Culture, Tradition, Announcements, Biographies, profiles of Ogbona sons and daughters and programs are posted at this website. Donation for Books NGN 525,500, Help for needing students at Auchi Poly NGN 317,553, Educational support to Ruth Esiroh Brai – Auchi Poly NGN 100,000, Extra pay for our teachers NGN 144,000, Keep Apolonia Alive NGN 1,376,650, TOTAL NGN 2,463,703
- We also received other donations from individuals for Website Development Cost and Refinement, and additional teachers for Ogbona Secondary school amounting total pledges of N450,000 and paid up of N266,000.
- Balance of these donations is being used to enroll 5 indigent students for WAEC and NECO in Ogbona Secondary School

Membership Committee, Fund Generation Committee, Foreign and Local Support – Community, Primary Schools, Secondary School, and Health Center, Education: Career Day Talks/Seminar for Secondary School and Community enlightenment and social programs Education: Scholarships, Grants and Support, Education: Teachers Recruitment and Performance Monitoring, Education: Professional Development Training for Teachers (Primary & Secondary Schools), NYSC Teachers/Health Officers, Debating, Quiz & Spelling Bee Competitions, Community Engagement, Agric Committee, Healthcare Committee, Website, Facebook and Fora Maintenance, External Relations and Engagements and Town Planning and Works Committee
- We had over 200 members earlier in the year but ending the year 2017 with 87 financial members, and 75 persons are fully paid up their 2017 annual dues.

- Pay N210,00/Month as Salary to 14 Teachers NCE/ND/HND/B.Sc. Holders for the Ogbona Secondary school since 2016

- On behalf of Ikhatuekewor Asapokhai Scholarship, we awarded to full scholarships to Imhologhomhe Ikpemhi Peter and Apakhade Oshiobughie Lucky for a total sum of N700,000
- Documented Ogbona Cultural Dances after research at home
- Sponsor the typing of Exams question papers for Ogbona Secondary School for 1st and 2nd semesters. Also provided 4 cartons of Erasable markers for Ogbona Secondary School and Primary schools worth N100,000
- Organized our first Quiz and debating for Ogbona Secondary School spending a total sum of N180,000
- Members Contributed over N350,000 towards the new Asama Primary School facility
- Books and learning aids worth N300,000, donated by Elites Volunteers for Ogbona Primary Schools
- Books, novels, charts worth N151,000, donated by Ogbona Elites Forum to the 3 Primary schools at Ogbona.
- Ogbona Elites Forum organized the second Annual Career Day & Seminar for Students and trained Teachers from the Primary and secondary schools using professionals on the 12th & 13th July, 2018. A total NGN 429,040 was spent on these programs
- We continued to published Profiles of Ogbona Sons and daughters at home and abroad and Biographies of Ogbona sons and daughters that have passed on to the great beyond but their contributions to the growth of our community are not forgotten
- The Ogbona Elites Forum organized a 3-day medical outreach to Ogbona Community and environ from September 01 to 03, 2018. Over 3,000 people from Ogbona and surrounding villages were at the MCK Orbih Comprehensive Health Centre daily for the free medical programs. Below is a summarized list of cases completed during the medical outreach.
- Dental treatment 113, 2. Eye surgeries 42, 3. General and Gynecological surgeries 80, 4. ECG done on Patients 25, 5. Eye drugs given 575, 6. Eye glasses given 700,
- Dental drugs given 409, 8. GOPD (CHILDREN, ELDERLY, HYPERTENSIVE, DIABETES., MALARIA, TYPHOID, UTI, URTI, etc.) with drugs given at PHARMACY 2,400 , 9. LAB TEST PERFORMED 496.
- Ogbona Elites Forum sponsored the construction of benches and tables for the 2018 JSS1 intake to Ogbona Secondary School with the sum of N150,000
- Supported an Ogbona Nursing student at Ambrose Ali University, Ms. Sarah Esther Ikhumetse with a Grant of N50,000
We believe in Community and Civil Society participation and support for quality education in our school and community improvement/development and we are taking a leading role to make our schools, water, health centers and others better.

- Continued to pay N231,00/Month as Salary to 13 Teachers NCE/ND/HND/B.Sc. Holders for the Ogbona Secondary school since 2016
- Worked with the palace to repair some of the broken-down water boreholes, their generators and diesel for Pumping of Water.
- On behalf of Ikhatuekewor Asapokhai Scholarship, we awarded to full scholarships to Imhologhomhe Ikpemhi Peter and Apakhade Oshiobughie Lucky for a total sum of N700,000
- Made new school furniture for the JSS1 Classes in 2019 and purchased Marker boards and mathematical sets for effective teaching and learning.
- Donated a Lawnmower for Ogbona Football Academy
- We continued to published Profiles of Ogbona Sons and daughters at home and abroad and Biographies of Ogbona sons and daughters that have passed on to the great beyond but their contributions to the growth of our community are not forgotten
- The Ogbona Elites Forum organized a 3-day medical outreach to Ogbona Community and environ from August 31 to September 01, 2019. Over 3,000 people from Ogbona and surrounding villages were at the MCK Orbih Comprehensive Health Centre daily for the free medical programs. Below is a summarized list of cases completed during the medical outreach.
- Various kinds of dental surgeries—-110, 2. Eye surgeries—39, 3. Eye glasses given out are—506, 4. Myomectomy (removal of huge fibroids) —4, 5. One Caesarean Section/ delivery—1, 6. One vaginal surgery to repair a prolapse urinary bladder through the vagina (Anterior Colporrhaphy) —1, 7. Other surgeries done i.e. appendectomy, hernia repairs, lipomas removal and ganglion removals—104, 8. Laboratory investigations done are—-215, 9. Two pints of screened blood was given to the Caesarean Section patient as she was anaemic even before the surgery was done and 10. Pharmacy prescription given are—-1812
